As young entrepreneurs in the Dallas Metropolitan area, we created Disconnect2Connect to address the growing problems associated with technology that we were observing on a daily basis. In schools especially, we realize that many students around us are using technology for the wrong reasons: for example, using cellular devices to cheat. In addition to the misuse of technology in schools, we recognize the grave impacts the overuse of technology has around us, from texting and driving to even developing asocial traits. In a generation where technology is seemingly at the heart of everything, we want to encourage all individuals to have the right mindset when using electronics. We hope that through Disconnect2Connect, individuals who are privileged enough to have technology available on a consistent basis will not take advantage of its benefits. On the other hand, we also strive to help individuals who are not technologically privileged gain access to simple forms of technology that have the potential to make a big impact. With a new wave of the digital age incoming, there are many opportunities to be explored, and we hope that everyone can be exposed to these great opportunities equally. All in all, our team aspires to help disconnect those who overuse technology and, instead, encourage them to help connect those who lack access to technology.
